1. Why do we collect data?

We never collect personal data without purpose; we always do so for a clear reason. Below we explain per audience what we process.

A. Website visitors (Cookies & Contact)

When you visit our site to check prices or ask a question.

  • Contact: If you use our contact form or email us, we store your name, email address and message so we can help you properly.
  • Website optimization: We want our site to be fast and easy to use. Therefore, we analyze (in anonymized form) how visitors use the site. We use cookies for this (see our cookie policy).

Legal basis: Legitimate interest (to help you and keep the shop running).

B. Customers (Bookers)

When you actually reserve a parking space. This is the heart of our service.

  • The Reservation: To register your booking with the parking provider, we need some details.
    • What: Name, address, phone number, email address, license plate, travel dates and flight numbers.
    • Why: Without your name and license plate, the parking operator cannot recognize you. Without an email address, you won’t receive your voucher.
  • Payment: Your payment is processed by a secure payment provider. We do not see full credit card details ourselves.
  • Reviews: After your trip we may invite you to share your experience. This helps other travelers.

Legal basis: Performance of the contract (you want to park, we arrange it).

C. Applicants

Interested in working at Airport.nl? Nice!

  • We store your CV, cover letter and contact details to run the application process.
  • If you are not hired, we delete your data within 4 weeks after the procedure closes (unless you consent to keep it for 1 year for future opportunities).

D. Suppliers & Partners

If we do business with you, we process your contact person's details and your payment details for our administration.

2. With whom do we share your data?

Airport.nl is a comparison platform. That means we are a link between you and the parking space. We never sell your data to data brokers. We only share it with:

  1. The Parking Provider (Essential): If you booked with, for example, EazzyPark, Parkvalet or another provider, we forward your name, license plate, phone number and travel dates to them so they can expect you and grant access to the premises.
  2. IT & Technology: Parties that host our website, send emails and keep our software running.
  3. Payment services: The party that securely processes your iDEAL or credit card transaction.
  4. Legal authorities: If the police or tax authorities lawfully demand data, we must comply.

We have strict data processing agreements with all parties that process data on our behalf (such as software providers).

3. How long do we retain your data?

We don’t keep anything longer than necessary.

  • Fiscal records (Invoices/Bookings): 7 years (as required by tax law).
  • Unsuccessful bookings: Deleted after 30 days.
  • Marketing/Newsletter: Until you unsubscribe. Every email contains a clear unsubscribe link.
  • General data: If no retention obligation applies, we periodically clean our database (for example, 2 years after your last activity).

4. Security

We take the protection of your data seriously to prevent misuse, loss and unauthorized access.

  • Our website is fully secured with SSL/TLS encryption (the padlock in your browser).
  • Access to personal data within our company is limited to employees who genuinely need it for their work.

5. Your Rights (You stay in control)

Under privacy law (GDPR), you remain in control of your data. You have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you (Access).
  • Have incorrect data corrected (Rectification).
  • Have your data erased (Erasure), where this does not conflict with tax law.
  • Object to the use of your data for marketing.
  • Transfer your data to another party (Data portability).

Want to exercise these rights?

Send an email to [email protected]. To prevent fraud, we may ask you to identify yourself. We will respond within 4 weeks at the latest.

6. Complaints

Can’t work it out with us? We’d find that unfortunate. You always have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority: the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
